      2- Sophrology sessions

Sophrology is a mind-body practice combining Western relaxation techniques with Eastern meditative practices. It includes gentle body movements, breathing and visualisation exercises. During our sessions I’ll provide you with a safe place to explore your issues and practice the exercises. We will adapt those to suit your physical ability and you’ll have flexibility in how you do the exercises. We’ll work towards the goals we establish during the initial consultation.

At the beginning of a session, I will explain and demonstrate the exercises before guiding you through them. We usually practice sitting or standing with eyes closed. However you can do the session with your eyes open if you feel uncomfortable closing them. At the end of the session I will invite you to discuss what you experienced if you are happy to share it.

After the session I’ll provide you with resources so that you can practice on your own until the next session.
Sophrology should never be used in place of orthodox medical care or medication. Always consult your doctor for medical care and diagnosis. Always advise your doctor or other healthcare professional (i.e. midwife or consultant) if you are receiving complementary therapy healthcare such as Sophrology.

      3. Medical Disclaimer
