Have you been recently diagnosed with a chronic condition such as cancer, fibromyalgia, MS, Parkinson’s disease or IBD?
When you are diagnosed it can feel like your world has been turned upside down. Suddenly you loose all control and certainty in your life and you are going through an emotional rollercoaster of fear, anxiety, guilt, anger and sadness.
It’s scary because you don’t know what this means for you, your future and your loved ones. You probably have a thousand thoughts and questions racing through your mind all day long and keeping you awake at night.
How is the condition going to evolve? Why is this happening to me? How is this going to affect my work and my family? Who should I tell about it? How am I going to cope? What is going to happen now?
I can guarantee that stress is not serving you. And if calming down seems impossible at this moment, let me assure you, I can help you achieve it.
I can teach you simple exercises to instantly FEEL CALMER and RELEASE TENSIONS. You’ll say goodbye to the emotional rollercoaster and restore BALANCE and HARMONY in your body and in your mind. When you start uncovering your inner resources, you’ll become more and more confident. You’ll feel EMPOWERED and sense that you are taking back control of your life.
Do you want to live well with your chronic condition?
You may have come to terms with the diagnosis but living with a chronic condition can remain a challenge. At times it can be isolating, frustrating and painful. Some days you feel like you had enough and you can feel depressed and powerless.
I believe it’s ok for all of us to have some bad days. You’re not going to get any better by beating yourself up and it’s important to be compassionate.
But I also believe it is easy to slip into victim mode and aggravate the situation by keeping a negative outlook on things.
Do you keep comparing yourself now with how you used to be and what you used to do? Do you worry as soon as you experience a symptom or some pain? Do you think it is necessarily going to get worse? Do you tend to do too much when you feel better and pay the price the following days?
Imagine your body is like a car. You can’t change the car you have, but you can choose whether you are in the passenger seat or the driver seat.
You can improve your QUALITY OF LIFE by uncovering your INNER RESOURCES and focusing on the areas where you have control. I can teach you PRACTICAL exercises to deal with pain and discomfort and help you manage your energy levels. Sophrology is a fantastic method that will help you RECONNECT with your body and regain a POSITIVE OUTLOOK on life.

How does it work?
If you choose to work with me 1 to 1, you will get bespoke exercises that are specifically tailored to you. We will start with an initial consultation to identify your needs and develop a plan to address your problem. The number of recommended sessions and the frequency of sessions will depend on you and your condition.
What is included?
In addition to the session, you will normally get a handout of the exercises we practiced with tips on how to use them and an mp3 audio recording of the session to aid your personal training. Depending on the work we do together, certain sessions may not include handouts or audio recordings.
Where do sessions take place?
Private sessions can take place at Tower Clinic in Cookridge, Leeds. However if you are living far away I am happy to offer virtual sophrology sessions via Skype or Zoom. This is something we can discuss during the initial consultation.
